A year since Singapore Supreme Court has ceased offering translation services – so do you know about the latest changes?

It has been a year since Singapore Supreme Court announced that it has stopped offering translation services to individuals and non-court related matters.

With that option out of the window, what are your other trustworthy alternatives?

Do you know the new requirements for submission of documents to the various government agencies?

According to the latest update found on ICA, official translations are required during submissions of documents if documents are not in already English.

Official translation must adhere one of the criteria below:

(i)   Translated copy provided by the Embassy;
(ii)  Translated copy notarized by a Notary Public; or
(iii) A privately translated copy attested by the Embassy.

Out of these 3, most will choose the second option of getting their translation notarized. This is because not all Embassies will attest private translations and even fewer will provide translation services.

However, most Notary Publics will require the translation to be certified by translation companies before notarizing.

This is where we come in.

Lingua Technologies International offers certified translation service in accordance with the European EN 15038 standards, a translation standard used predominantly by European governments and translation Agencies to govern translation qualities. This means the translation provided is an accurate and faithful rendering of the original source document.

On top of that, we can also recommend legal partners to help facilitate the notarization of your certified translated document

So when you need to look Certified Translations for document submission to government…..who do you call??
