Population of Chinese in Indonesia

Chinese Indonesian or Orang Tionghua are Indonesians whose ancestors are from China. These Chinese immigrants are mostly from the southern parts of China arriving at the Indonesia shores as early as the 13th century.

Although consisting of only around 3% of the total population in Indonesia, the economic contribution of the Chinese is rather significant.
